Lunch-time & after-school clubs

Hitchin Town FC has operated various multi-sport & sport-specific lunch time and after school sports clubs in schools for a number of years and they have proved invaluable in the creation and development of school-club links. Each school within this outreach programme benefit from invitations to participate in sports festivals hosted at The Arena and staged by the Community coaching staff.

We are also able to provide schools with coaches to deliver sports courses during teachers' Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA)  periods. The courses allow the children to participate in additional physical education whilst giving the teachers the opportunity to fulfil their PPA obligations.

Our fully CRB checked sports coaches are qualified to deliver a wide range of the PE national curriculum, following our approved structured lesson plans. Their professional coaching techniques combined with experience create exciting yet controlled and educational teaching environments.

"Hitchin Town Community Football Club have been providing PPA cover for our school for the past two years.  Lessons are always well planned and thought through so that should the weather be an issue, alternative locations and activities are provided.

As well as organising PPA, Hitchin Town provide extra curricular activities too, after school and during lunchtime.  In addition, working with the School Sports Partnership, Hitchin Town have organised football rallies and friendly matches with other schools.

Our two coaches, Conor and Adam, lead the sessions effectively, they are very professional and have the full respect of children, staff and parents.  I have no hesitation in recommending them" - Alison Brooks, Headteacher, Preston Primary
