Coaching Clinics

Primary Coaching Clinics

In February 2008 Primary Coaching Clinics will begin for boys and girls aged from 4 to 5 years and 6 to 7 years of age. The clinics look to provide an introduction to football with the emphasis being on 'fun'. The clinics will be supervised by Hitchin Town Club coaches and will last for 1 hour, so why not drop your kids off and enjoy a bacon sandwich, cup of coffee, a read of the newspapers and relax safe in the knowledge that your children are just a few yards away.

Enhanced Coaching Clinics

The Enhanced Coaching Clinics are coming to The Arena in March 2008 for school children in years 5, 6 and 7. Once again the clinics will be supervised by Hitchin Town Club coaches offering children expert coaching that will enhance their technical ability and will support but not interfere with any coaching they currently receive from schools or clubs.

Coaching Clinics for Women

Coaching Clinic for Women starts on Thursday 24th January 2008. The session is open to all women interested in playing football, whether it is a way of keeping fit as part of a New Year fitness regime, as an introduction to playing football, an opportunity to start playing again after a lay off or purely as a social occasion. A Hitchin Town FC coach will introduce participants into football and look to develop further opportunities in the future. The clinic will last for 1 hour from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm every Thursday from 24th January for 10 weeks initially. If the clinic proves successful then we hope to extend the sessions and possibly form a team. The cost will be £1 per session payable on the night.

Thursday’s 8.30 pm - 9.30 pm

Hertfordshire Advanced Development Centre

The Herts Advance Development Centre was set up to help young players in their dream to becoming a professional footballer.

Our courses are aimed at elite players who may be searching for that certain something in terms of confidence, belief or encouragement, or who just need the opportunity to perform in front of scouts, managers and agents.

We combine first-class football coaching with the mental attitude aspects that are becoming increasingly important in the modern game, along with tips from experts who know what it takes to make it to the top!

The Herts Advance Development Centre began in 2004 as an Ipswich Town Football Club satellite centre, supplying players to their Development Centres in Harlow, Bottisham and Chelmsford. Due to internal restructuring within Ipswich Town F.C. a decision was taken to close the all satellite centres. The coaches working from the Letchworth Centre decided to continue running the centre as an independent venture, retaining the players already with the Ipswich Town F.C. centre and recruiting new players from Herts, Beds, Bucks and Cambs.

The Herts A.D.C. contacted all the professional clubs within the F.A. guidelines regarding maximum travelling for young players, with a view to forging links and forwarding players to them to assess. This has proved to be very positive as we have links with most of the top professional clubs in the south; we have supplied them with players they have taken in at either development status, elite squad or full schoolboy contracts and we are actively pursuing these avenues for the talented young players we work with.

Herts A.D.C. is an invitational individual development centre, we are not a club or team. We identify promising young players and invite them to our centre with a view to improving their game using the latest coaching techniques and drills. We work on the core basics needed for the modern game, speed, intelligence, technique, attitude, strength discipline etc. The coaching sessions run for one hour each week in ten week blocks. The coaching programme is designed to improve all aspects of the modern footballer in a logical, progressive format. Herts A.D.C. work to compliment the coaching that young players receive for their school and local colt’s team.

Herts A.D.C. are continually looking to invite new players and we have a network of coaches and scouts who recommend players to us, but there are always a few players who slip the net, so Herts A.D.C. run a series of FREE trials during the season and during the close season. Herts A.D.C. also work with the local education authorities, delivering after school beginners clubs, advance sessions, PPA-PPE sessions and P.E. lessons. Many of our success stories have been discovered at an after school club or holiday course. Herts A.D.C. also have very strong links with local colt’s football, relying on the expertise of local club managers and coaches in scouting for potential players, both playing for their club and also for the opposition.
